“"Believing and Trusting What He's Said"”

2 Corinthians 5:7

For we live by faith, not by sight.

Thoughts for Today:

Our passage today would rival any other verse in the Bible as one of the most profound. But, what does it mean to live by faith? We can make the answer very complex or extraordinarily simple. I'll go for the simple version: Living by faith means taking God at His Word. In other words, believing and trusting in what He's said.

So how do we get to the point where faith dominates sight? We must first return to the written promises of God, and then renew ourselves by the nature of the One behind those promises. The concept of faith brings with it the certainty and assurance that what is believed is indeed true. (Hebrews11:1: "Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.") We have the Word, the risen Savior, and changed lives all around us. I personally have seen and experienced more than enough physical evidence to live by faith. The point is to just do so.

Questions to Ponder:

How will you step out in faith today? In what ways will faith be demonstrated in your life? What attitude or behavior is God specifically calling you to change? Will you trust His help?
